The Mind in the Digital Age: Bridging Psychology and Technology

I served as the digital media specialist and technical support lead for the face-to-face seminar “The Mind in the Digital Age: Bridging Psychology and Technology” at the Gordon College Function Hall. The event, with guest speaker Mr. Gabriel Puldo (aCPHR), explored how digital environments shape human cognition, emotion, and behavior.

🎨 Key Learnings

Designing promotional materials helped me apply psychological concepts like attention economy and emotional design—which were later reinforced by the seminar. I saw firsthand how thoughtful visuals influence audience expectations and engagement.

🛠️ Practical Applications

I’ll now apply psychological principles more intentionally in future designs. I also plan to refine my event tech support process with better prep and proactive troubleshooting checklists to enhance overall participant experience.

âś… Event Highlights

  • Strong audience engagement and active Q&A.
  • Cohesive visuals and smooth tech support contributed to a polished event.
  • In-person format fostered stronger speaker-participant interaction.

đź’ˇ Suggestions for Future Events

To increase engagement:

  • Add interactive social media elements (polls, teasers).
  • Integrate digital tools like an event app or live interactive slides.

This seminar sharpened my skills in both digital media and technical coordination while deepening my understanding of how psychology can inform and elevate digital communication.
